Custom Blood Injection Intracerebral Hemorrhage Animal Model

Injection of donor arterial blood into the rat caudate nucleus can establish experimental intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH). To improve the reproducibility of the model, the scientists used a micropump attached to a stereotactic syringe to inject autologous femoral artery blood into the caudate nucleus in a continuous, slow stream. The whole blood injection model best simulates hematoma effects and blood toxicity, but the model does not involve cerebral vascular rupture.

Our Custom Whole Blood Injection Intracerebral Hemorrhage Animal Model

As a leading leader in the field of stroke, Ace Therapeutics provides customers worldwide with high-quality and reliable whole blood injection intracerebral hemorrhage animal model to help you study the complex pathophysiology of hemorrhagic stroke and to test potential therapeutic agents.

Our team is well-versed in handling the necessary equipment, such as stereotaxic racks, Hamilton syringes, and fused silica needles, to ensure the utmost care and accuracy throughout the procedure. Our whole blood injection modeling services also include comprehensive data collection at all time points after the procedure.

Modeling Method and Model Assessment

Our whole blood injection modeling procedures follow a strict and standardized protocol to ensure reproducible and reliable results. Our dual-injection blood models are available in rats, mice, rabbits, and pigs.

  • Using a micropump attached to a stereotactic syringe, we slowly injected a small amount of autologous blood into the caudate nucleus and then waited a few minutes for a clot to form.
  • Subsequently, the remaining blood is re-injected into the caudate nucleus to produce a true hematoma.
  • We offer advanced imaging techniques, behavioral assessments, and histological analysis to quantify neurobehavioral deficits.

Advantages of Our Custom Whole Blood Injection Intracerebral Hemorrhage Animal Model

  • Our whole blood injection hemorrhagic stroke model accurately simulates the pathophysiological features of the target human condition.
  • We can control the location and size of the hemorrhage, which helps to target the effects of hemorrhage on specific brain regions.
  • By eliminating anticoagulation using a sterile system free of exogenous proteins, we are able to examine the natural clotting process and its impact on the progression and outcome of hemorrhagic stroke.
  • Our whole blood injection hemorrhagic stroke model offers the advantage of a relatively small sample size without compromising research precision.

Applications

  • Investigate mechanisms of brain injury
  • Develop and evaluate new therapeutic strategies for stroke in the preclinical setting

Ace Therapeutics offers stereotactic blood injection in the brain parenchyma or ventricular space to construct hemorrhagic stroke models. The model can be easily modified to help you study the effects of transfusing different compounds other than autologous whole blood. Need to know more?
